Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) launched a new website (www.EnergizingNJsFuture.com) to provide residents with useful information about the Montville – Whippany Reinforcement Project. The proposed 230-kilovolt (kV) transmission line is expected to enhance service reliability, add redundancy and meet the growing demand for power in Morris and Sussex Counties.
The website provides an overview of the project, detailed route maps, answers to questions about the project and a tool to send feedback and questions directly to JCP&L representatives. Other features are a news and updates section and localized maps so property owners can learn more about the proposed route.
Visitors to the website can see the revised preferred route that avoids some congested areas originally considered for the project. The revised preferred route is the result of JCP&L’s additional engineering work intended to minimize the transmission line’s inconvenience to local communities based on information gathered at open house meetings and through discussions with residents and municipal officials.
